What is Mixology?
Mixology is the practice of rotational feeding.
There is no perfect pet food. Every food option may provide a handful of beneficial nutrients, but can be lacking in others. We believe by rotating proteins, brands, categories of foods, and even adding in certain fruits and vegetables, you can provide your pet a well-rounded and healthy diet that they will be excited about each and every day.
What is Our Fresh Philosophy?
Our Fresh Philosophy shows the spectrum of food categories that we offer in our store ranging from Fresh (kibbles) to Freshest (Raw). We encourage pet parents to feed foods that are as fresh as their feeding preferences and budgets allow. As you feed products that live more towards the Freshest end of the spectrum, you will be feeding your pet foods that are rich in protein and moisture allowing your pet to thrive.
Kibble: Dry food with meat always the first ingredient.
Canned/Wet: Adds moisture to a meal. This can be eaten alone or mixed with other foods.
Dehydrated: Add water to reflect a homemade meal.
Freeze-Dried: Raw food that retains freshness with less mess.
Raw: Nutrient-dense and moisture-rich. Closest to a pet's natural diet.
Benefits of Mixology
Mixing, rotating foods, and adding moisture helps your pet build a healthy gut, have optimal organ function, and can improve overall health and longevity. Adding more fresher food to your pet's bowl can sometimes reduce the risk of food sensitivities and allergies too!
A great item to note about practicing Mixology is that you can feed products from different parts of Our Fresh Philosophy at the same time! It isn't necessary to feed one type of food exclusively for each meal.
